Lithuanian Embassy in New Delhi today signed the agreement to fund the production of face masks in Bhutan. The project will supplement Royal Government’s of Bhutan efforts in controlling the spread of COVID-19 and will allow to produce locally 46,000 two and three ply layer masks that primarily will be distributed to the frontline workers and those who need them most.

On 6 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei, and discussed information about the receipt of nuclear fuel at the Ostrovets nuclear power plant (NPP) that had been published in Belarus. The telephone conversation took place on the initiative of L. Linkevičius.

On 27 April, Lithuania sent essential medical supplies for combating the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to Spain. The country provided humanitarian aid in accordance with the decision of Lithuania’s Government of 8 April and in response to Spain’s request for medical supplies to help fight the pandemic in the country.

On 23 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Lithuania Robert S. Gilchrist held a video conference to discuss bilateral cooperation in response to challenges posed by COVID-19. L. Linkevičius thanked the U.S. for the support Lithuania had received from this country, including medical supplies provided by the U.S. Army.

On 22 April, Lithuania sent essential medical devices including personal protective equipment for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to Italy. The country provided humanitarian aid in accordance with the decision of the Lithuanian Government of 8 April to its close partner, Italy, in response to its request for face masks and medical gear to help fight the pandemic that has caused a large number of deaths in the country.
