The Embassy of Lithuania together with Donelaitis Society are happy to invite you and your friends to the annual Lithuanian films screenings, which this year will take place at Kino K-13 in Katakanokka (Kanavakatu 12, Helsinki).  Make sure you mark your calendar for November 6, 18.00 and November 8, 18.00.

First evening Mindaugas Survila, the director of the film SENGIRĖ , will be present and we will have an opportunity to discuss with him about the creative process and four years he spent in the magic woods.

Screenings are in Lithuanian language with English subtitles.

The Education Exchanges Support Foundation takes pleasure in offering Lithuanian state scholarships for students, lecturers and researchers of foreign countries to attend Lithuanian language and culture courses. These courses are not available for holders of higher than C1 level of Lithuanian language and native speakers.

The Embassy of Lithuania in Helsinki has the great pleasure of inviting you to the festival EE, LV, LT x 100 organized by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ offices in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in collaboration with the Nordic Culture Point in Helsinki to celebrate the 100-year Anniversaries of the Baltic countries. The festival will take place on 26 August – 1 September 2018 in Helsinki. 

Plokščiai, village in the Šakiai district, was a place of festive scientific conference, called ‘100 years of the state. Lithuania. Finland’ on the 21st of the May. Participants of this conference included Deputy of the Chairman of Parliament of Lithuania Arvydas Nekrošius, doctor of humanitarian sciences Arvydas Vidžiūnas, Ambassador of Finland in Lithuania Christer Michelsson, Ambassador of Lithuania in Finland Valdemaras Sarapinas, the mayor of Šakiai district Edgaras Pilypaitis, professors Hannu Niemi and Stasys Skrodenis, and other speakers.

On the occasion of the Restoration of Independence of Lithuania, Lithuanians in Finland gathered for a meeting with journalist, writer, show host and active public figure Andrius Tapinas on the 11th of the March at the Embassy of Lithuania in Helsinki.

The Centennial of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania was celebrated with the concert at Rock Church of Helsinki (Temppeliaukion Kirkko) on the 16th of the February.
