    "EE, LV, LT x 100" festival on August 26th - September 1st in Helsinki

    The Embassy of Lithuania in Helsinki has the great pleasure of inviting you to the festival EE, LV, LT x 100 organized by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ offices in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in collaboration with the Nordic Culture Point in Helsinki to celebrate the 100-year Anniversaries of the Baltic countries. The festival will take place on 26 August – 1 September 2018 in Helsinki. 

    In the colorful festival’s program, which includes author visits, language cafés, concerts, film screenings and seminars on topical themes, we have an honour to announce the Lithuanian participants:     

    Sunday, 26 August

    18.00 – 20.00 Poetry reading.

    Dr. Gabrielė Labanauskaitė – Lithuanian poet, prose writer, playwright and book critic.

    Address: Lavaklubi, National Theatre.

    Wednesday, 29 August 

    15.30 – 17.00 Seminar “Norden as a concept and influence “.

    Prof. Dr. Mindaugas Jurkynas – political scientist

    18.00 – 24.00 Baltic film night. Lithuanian movie “Owl Mountain” (2017), directed by Audrius Juzėnas.

    Friday, 31 August  

    15.00 – 17.00 Seminar “Literature of Small Nations vs Big Nations – interest and awareness”.

    Vakarė Smaleckaitė – Projects Manager at Lithuanian Culture Institute and Urtė Liepuoniūtė – Translator of Finnish literature. 

    18.00 – 20.00 Short film program. Lithuanian animation “Running lights” (2017) directed by Gediminas Šiaulys.

    Saturday, 1 September

    19.30 – 21.00 Concert “Nordic Passion” by the Baltic jazz musicians. Valerijus Ramoška – Lithuanian trumpetist.

    Official Opening of the Festival on Wednesday, 29 August at 14.30 at the Nordic Culture Point, Kaisaniemenkatu 9.
