Day of Restoration of the State of Lithuania commemorated in Helsinki

February 16, Day of Restoration of the State of Lithuania, was celebrated at St. John’s Church in Helsinki on February 17.

Musical works of A. Vivaldi, F. Mendelssohn, J. Sibelius, M.K. Čiurlionis and B. Dvarionas were carried out by Mr Zbignevas Levickis, first violin of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, and Mr Daumantas Slipkus, pianist of Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

Ambassador of Lithuania to Finland Mr Arūnas Jievaltas has stressed out the importance of this date for all Lithuanians around the globe during his speech. He was also happy to see significant momentum in Lithuania’s cultural, economic and social development.

The concern was attended by diplomats from foreign representations in Finland, Lithuanian community in Finland, representatives from businesses and cultural institutions as well as other friends of Lithuania.
