LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF FINLAND
On 20 September Lithuanian Ambassador to Finland Halina Kobeckaitė presented credentials to the President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen.
The ceremony was held at the Office of the President in Helsinki.
During the conversation bilateral relations between the two states as well as Vilnius Energy Security Conference, which will be held next month, were discussed.
The President of Finland Tarja Halonen also invited the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus to come to Finland in his own time.
Ambassador Halina Kobeckaitė is the fourth Lithuanian Ambassador to Finland after the restoration of Lithuania’s independence.
Lithuania and Finland re-established diplomatic relations on 29 August 1991.
