Lithuanian artists presented in Finland
Embassy of Lithuania in Finland, Vilnius Graphics Art Centre, the Lithuanian Culture Institute and institutions of Finland are happy to present Lithuanian artists Lida Dubauskiene, Egle Vertelkaite, Mindaugas Gapsevicius and Vygandas Simbelis who are showcasing modern art projects in Finland this month.
On 9 September in the Ratamo Printmaking and Photography Centre, Jyväskylä, Lida Dubauskiene and Egle Vertelkaite will present united exhibition.
The exhibition reflects one of the most important features of Vertelkaite - conceptual, occasionally almost mathematical or physical perception expressed through images.
Lida Dubauskiene works are decicated to those who miss real graphic. The cycle of engraving reveals special artist's sensation of the graphics. The organizer of the project - Vilnius Graphics Art Centre.
On 14-20 September, Lithuanian artist Vygandas Simbelis will participate in the worshop of FieldNotes residence organised by the Kipisjärvi biological station in Lapland. The ideas of the Hybrid Matters will be developed during the workshop. FieldNotes laboratory is designed as a place of the art practice and research. It combines the art and science and gives opportunity to explore biological aspects of the nature in the rough environment.
On 23-27 September in Helsinki, Mindaugas Gapsevicius will participate in the Pixelache Festival. This year's Pixelache festival, entitled Living Spaces, concentrates on the urban environment of Helsinki and tries to use any potential city space, whether public, private or in-between, as a playground for the festival's manifestations of creative and participatory culture. During the festival Mr. Gapsevicius will invite to discuss how organisms and machines share the same space.
