Lithuanian beer tasting evening in Helsinki
On 26 November 2014 Lithuanian beer tasting evening was organized at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Helsinki. During the event beer from 3 different Lithuanian craft beer companies „Švyturys“, „Kalnapilis“ and „Volfas Engelman“ were presented. Lithuanian beer production and Lithuanian beer brewing traditions were presented by Saulius Galadauskas, the president of Lithuanian brewers guild.
H.E. Mr. Arūnas Jievaltas, Ambassador of Lithuania in Finland, presented Lithuanian beer map, particularly highlighted the most important regions (Biržai, Pakruojis, Pasvalys) of beer production in Lithuania. Ambassador also introduced guests to Lithuanian culinary heritage.
The discussion about Lithuanian beer was held by Finnish beer union Olutliitto Oy president Heikki Kähkönen and Lithuanian beer lover and specialist, Gastropub restaurant representative Sami Lappalainen.
Beer importers, representatives of Finnish beer union, media and restaurants, organizers of Finnish beer festivals participated in the event. Guests had an opportunity to taste typical Lithuanian beer snacks.
The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in cooperation with Finnish beer union Olutliitto Oy.
