NORDIC AND BALTIC MINISTERS OF TRANSPORT DISCUSSED CLIMATE CHANGE

	       On 4-5 September, annual meeting of Nordic and Baltic Ministers of Transport took place in Joensuu.

 Lithuanian delegation was headed by Minister of Transport and Communications Algirdas Butkevicius.

At the meeting, Lithuania presented the key elements of national transport strategy that will enable

to fight climate change and will increase accessibility of public transport systems. In Joensuu, Ministers

also discussed infrastructure planning and regional cooperation. Sweden presented its preparation

for EU presidency in 2009.
