PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA DALIA GRYBAUSKAITĖ VISITED FINLAND
October 7-8, President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė visited Finland on working visit. In Helsinki, President Grybauskaitė met with Finland's President Tarja Halonen, Speaker of Parliament Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen. In these meetings, the President discussed opportunities for the development of nuclear power and alternative energies. Among the topics discussed was also the opportunities for cooperation among the Baltic and Nordic countries in securing funding from the European Union for strategic projects of importance to the whole region and in attracting attention of EU institutions and the large European countries for the region. For the visit to Finland, the President was accompanied by a delegation of Lithuanian businesspeople.
