On January 17-20, Lithuania participated for the tenth time to the Nordic Travel Fair Matka 2008 in Helsinki. This year, along with the traditional promotion of tourism to Lithuania, the special attention was paid to promoting Vilnius – European Capital of Culture 2009. A special section of the Lithuanian pavilion was dedicated to introducing the visitors to this cultural project. Also, a press conference by the Ambassador of Lithuania to Finland Halina Kobeckaitė and Vilnius – European Capital of Culture 2009 Communication Project Manager Greta Jansonaitė was held for Finnish and international audience on the first day of the Fair to outline the scope and the main cultural events of this project. The quests had an opportunity to listen to and enjoy a performance by Tomas Dobrovolskis, a multi-instrumentalist from Lithuania.
