Welcome to the Nordic Baltic Bioenergy conference
The Nordic Baltic region has the highest share, as well as the fastest increase, of renewable energy in the EU. The natural conditions for bioenergy are very favourable in all of the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, as they have good farmland and productive forests.
In the Baltic States, dependence on imported fossil fuels is an economic and political challenge. At the same time, indigenous biomass resources are abundant. Therefore, bioenergy is the renewable that offers to solve the climate issue together with improved national economy. Bioenergy makes it possible to decrease dependence on imports, reduce costs, and create business development and jobs in domestic economies. The technical solutions are available.
This years ambition at the Nordic Baltic Bioenergy Conference is to create business connections between East and West. We will share experiences and present state-of-the-art technologies, e.g. in the fields of bio-based combined heat and power, pellet production and use. We will also discuss best policy to promote a cost efficient transition of the energy system as well as the current and future market development. But above all, we will meet, talk and make business.
