Synopsis: Mixture of love story and gangster movies. Fabio simulates a mental illness, preparing himself an alibi before the scheduled execution of the order. In a psychiatric clinic meets Luiza, the sensitive daughter of a small-town politics, which for the sake of a career does not hesitate before the girl's empowerment, ashamed of her unconventional behavior. Fabio, disarmed the innocence and vulnerability Louise takes her into custody. Gradually the friendship turns into something more.

Synopsis: Disco and Atomic War tells the story of a strange kind of information war, where a totalitarian regime stands face to face with the heroes of popular culture. And looses. Western popular culture had an incomparable role shaping Soviet children's world-views in those days - in ways that now seem slightly odd. Finnish television was a window to a world of dreams that the authorities could not block in any way. Though Finnish channels were banned, many households found some way to access the forbidden fruit. Disco and Atomic War offers its own version of recent history, mixing spy games into a human tragicomedy.

Synopsis: It’s the last summer in Falkenberg. Five childhood friends who have become young men. David who yearns to be a child again and Holger who never wants to move away. Two best friends that escape to the forest and to the ocean, away from the future. Jesper constantly returns home without anybody really noticing that he’s been gone. Jörgen finances his catering company, ”Breakfast in bed” by burglarizing houses. And John, always in a bad mood, yet believes that bacon makes him happy. The future looms on the horizon, but all of them won’t be there to see it. Falkenberg Farewell - a film about friendship, memories and a final farewell to the little town by the sea.

Had Jan only known what Rudy and Alf were up to, he would never have let them into his house. On the corner of change and destiny, their lives take unexpected turns.”

18.00 - German Film: "Sun Avenue" ("Sonnenallee"), 1999,

Synopsis:"Sonnenallee"  is a comedy film about life in East Berlin in the 1970s.

A group of kids grow up on the short, wrong (east) side of the Sonnenallee in Berlin, right next to one of the few border crossings between East and West reserved for German citizens. The antics of these kids, of the "West German" friends and relatives who come to visit, and of the East German border guards, all serve to illustrate the absurdity of everyday life on the Sonnenallee, and therefore throughout the former East Germany. The "Sonnenallee" is an existing street in Berlin that was intersected by the border between East and West during the time of the Berlin Wall.

17.00 - Lithuanian Film. “Whisper of Sin”, 2007,

Synopsis: A nearly-suicidal, young woman visits a psychotherapist. She is in love with a priest, and the diagnosis of her husband's mental illness leaves no hope. The psychotherapist, in her attempts to resolve the amassed difficulties, seemingly begins to duplicate the life stages and behavioral patterns of her patient. A script for this film is based on motifs from the best-seller, scandalous novel, Witch and Rain, by female author, Jurga Ivanauskaite. By choosing a priest as the main role for a love story, the author broke an existing societal taboo. Faith, Love and Hope form the trilogy by the authors of this screenplay. Love stands as the grandest of the three.

19.00 – Russian Film “The Cold Summer of 1953”, USSR, Mosfilm, 1988

Director: Alexander Proshkin. Duration: 96 min.

Synopsis: A Soviet film of the Perestroika period that touches upon human problems in the context of Stalin’s repressions. The action takes place in 1953, when Iosif Stalin’s death was followed by an amnesty setting free thousands of non-political prisoners, also criminals. A gang of criminals released in the course of the amnesty tries to capture a small village. Two political prisoners who serve their sentence there stand up to defend the local people. The film stars a well-known Soviet actor Anatoly Papanov. The shooting of the film was performed in Moscow and Karelia.
